ASTALA
mantinia estate
ASTALA is made from organically cultivated grapes harvested in a family-owned mountain-top vineyard with very low yield per stremma (= 1000 m²). It is pleasing to one's sense of smell because its aromas of such flowers as jasmine, honeysuckle and rose combine with fruity aromas including tart apple, apricot, melon and lemon. The wine's aromatic diversity is further enriched with notes of herbs and spices. In the mouth, it is outstandingly well-rounded, with exceptional balance of aromas and acidity. Its short stay in barrels delivers a wine with more body and greater smoothness.
The delightful refreshing acidity and the long-lasting, satisfying aftertaste add to an entirely harmonious wine which should be enjoyed either by itself or accompanying a variety of dishes representing Greek traditional or international cuisine.
